Saying:

Zaneh Kocha Bash, Zaneh Bacha Nay: This saying was often told to me by elder females and friends in Kabul when discussing my romantic life- it roughly translates to "It's better to be a woman of the streets (i.e. a prostitute) than be the woman of a boy". That's a powerful ass statement! Afghan women don't want no scrubs, and if you don't either, cop one of these shirts!

MargMarg is a catch-all phrase that literally means death, but is often used in a flirty, teasing tone to mean something to the equivalent of, say, "fuck outta here!" One of my favorites.

Dilem Bicyclem: Many of you already know this saying from our hoops. Dilem bicyclem translates literally to "my heart, my bicycle" and means “it's my life I do want I want.”

Khair hast kaka jaan: This saying literally translates to "it's all good, uncle dear" and is the most endearing and Afghan way to say "don't worry, be happy!"

Nofum da chishmet: This is the baddest, most female-empowering insult I've ever heard- nofum da chishmet, translates to my belly button on your eyes which is a pretty cute and crass way of saying "suck it" because if my belly button is on your eyes where would my lady bits be?

And lastly, the English, good girls go to heaven, bad girls go to Kabul t-shirt because, duh

All of our jewellery is hypoallergenic, made with stainless steel and 18k gold. Dreamt up in Kabul jaan.
