The barb wire set was designed because every home and building in Afghanistan now, after the wars, have barb wire around them- it's almost en vogue. I found it strangely beautiful with all of it's aggression and hostility- you put anything next to the body and it can be beautiful. My childhood home was infamous in Kabul as being the "big peach house without barb wire in Karte Se" because my dad, may he rest in power, was an extremely unique and eccentric man- he'd laugh and say "Why should I have barb wire around my house? Who am I scared of?" so I grew up thinking of it as an accessory, not a safety measure.

Handmade, beautiful and unique gold jewellery, from Afghanistan with love.
