Poison T-Shirt Dress
Rabia Balkhi has been one of my favourites for a long time.
A poet born into a noble family in Balkh, Afghanistan in the 10th century, Rabia has been an Afghan heroine for hundreds of years. She fell in love with her Turkish slave, Baktash and when her brother wouldn't let her marry her beloved, she locked herself in a bathroom, slit her wrists, and wrote one last poem with her own blood.
The last lines were "Eat poison but taste sugar sweet".
For spooky season this year, I wanted to honour one of my favourite poets and badass Afghan ladies, so the Poison Rabia Balkhi T-Shirt Dress was born, baring her last lines of poetry, in it's original Dari.
Available in black, white, gray and pink!
