I have often been inspired by the godmother of punk, Dame Vivienne Westwood (see MashAllah choker after her famous SEX choker). As I was creating this collection of tees, I was reminded of the late icon’s ‘Which side of the bed’ tee from 1975; where one side of the print listed all things ‘good’ (Coffee bars that sell whiskey under the counter/Mrs Scully love goddess from Shepherds Bush…/ Zoot suits and dreadlocks/ Simone de Beauvoir), and the other, all ‘bad’ (Sat nights in Oxford Street/The narrow monopoly of media causing harmless creativity to appear subversive/ Old clothes old ideas and all this resting in the country business/Head of the Metropolitan Police19, Honey, Harpers, Vogue in fact all magazines that treat their readers as idiots).

I am v pleased to share with you my version of Which side of the bed, but for Afghanistan, things that should 'long live' and things that shouldn't… I was positively beside myself creating this design, and I think it may be one of the best designs I have ever made.
